This was a small classroom project for the Sakhisizwe Youth Development Project in Imizamo Yethu (on the Ikhaya Le Themba site) in Hout Bay. It was our first truly international facilitated build with all those involved either visitors from the US or members of the Sakhisizwe project. It was also - apart from the foundation - a completely dry build, with zinc for the external cladding and timber shutter ply for the internal. The EcoBeam structure combined with a network of gumpoles that were used for columns and roof rafters.
